If you are looking to submit a proposal to be considered for an art show at Local Sprouts, please email art@localsprouts.coop (be sure to include a bio, sample of your work and dates you’re looking to book)

Before submitting a proposal please take a minute to read a little about our mission as a cooperative and as an arts space.

Local Sprouts as a gallery space is committed to providing a space for individual or groups of artists to hang and sell their work without a gallery fee. Local Sprouts is invested in curating regular group shows, creating space for artists to exhibit their work and network with other local artists of similar interest whom they may not have had an opportunity to share their work with otherwise.

We believe in supporting artists in our community and are unique in the way that we do not take a percentage of sales from the artist. We are, however, invested in the upkeep of Local Sprouts as a working restaurant. That is to say, we are not an active gallery space and though many artists have had success selling art in the past, it is not our primary focus. Local Sprouts continues to grow and transition as a business, consequently, we do not have the resources yet to have a paid staff help with the setup and takedown of shows, leaving the responsibility to the artist if no volunteers are available to assist.

We want to encourage all sorts of art, especially when we can help groups and organizations have a space to share their work. We have two main walls that we dedicate to be utilized as gallery space. The main wall is a faint wash of lavender, about 20 ft x 10 ft. The secondary wall is goldenrod yellow, about 10 ft x10 ft. We have been successful in organizing window installations, group shows, solo shows, silent auctions, and more!

Contract

Because we are a bustling cafe with a heavy traffic flow, we ask each artist to fill out and sign a contract to ensure that although we try our best to monitor the safety of their artwork, we cannot be held accountable for damaged, lost or stolen pieces. Additionally, we are not responsible for replacing or compensating the artist if this were to occur.
