“The Black Resonators”  are a ragtime blues duo consisting of Nathan Rivera and his pal Shine. The duo is comprised of 2 resonator guitars, 1 accordion and 2 voices, having a great energy and a love for performing.

Pretty Girls Sing Soprano is a new duo singing a variety of music.

Papadello is new Homegrown Portlandian folk/pop.

Our monthly night with Meghan Yates playing soulful folk fusion.

Anthony is a junior at Portland High, who digs playing music and such and is heavily influenced by Dylan and Neil Young. He’s been playing guitar and singing for about five years now.

Friday, August 17th, 7pm: Speaker for the Dead
SFTD is the solo project of Greg McKillop, a folk-punk/community-organizer/fledgling poet/queer/DIY-idealist and probably the most polite punk rocker you will ever meet from Worcester, MA. He spends 7-9 months out of every year on the road and hates writing in third person. He will come to your town/venue/house/DIY center/college/church and help foster environments of safe creativity!

Saturday, August 18th, 7pm: Ocean Sol
Ocean Sol’s set list is wide in variety, from Straight ahead jazz, bebop, swing ,samba and bossa nova’s. You can let your stress melt away as you listen and relax after dealing with life’s quandaries.

Friday, August 24th, 7pm: Mia Cross
Mia comes from Framingham, MA. She paints, makes birdhouses, makes music and practices random kindness. Mia’s act is usually duo guitar and vocals (with the occasional cello or upright bass).

Saturday, August 25th, 7pm: Hattie Simon
Hattie is a local jazz vocalist/pianist performing around Maine as a soloist, and sometimes as a duo with a bassist.

Thursday, August 30th, 7pm: Jimmy Dority
Jimmy is a local piano player.

Friday, August 31st, 7pm: ‘We Shall Rise’ performances hosted by Resurgam Collective
Resurgam Records is a Portland Maine based cooperative record label and field recording collective. At this monthly event, collective members Christopher Pulsoni, Gaelle Robin and other guests bring an assorted mix of styles and sounds. For more information, check out www.resurgamrecords.com .

Mondays 6:30pm:  Knitting Group All are welcome to come knit and learn Tuesdays 7pm: Port Veritas Poetry Reading A weekly poetry reading hosted by Port Veritas. Port Veritas is a community based organization whose goal is to engage, enlighten, educate and entertain. Wednesdays 7pm: Old Time Music Jam An open jam of old time appalachian music.  Bring an instrument or just come to enjoy the music.
